In this course, non-IP attorneys will learn how to recognize some of the IP issues in consulting clients, understand the value of client’s IP and what to do about it.

Speakers:

Adam L.K. Philipp

The Founder of AEON Law, Adam Philipp is a patent attorney and the head of the patent department at AEON Law. Adam has been involved in the prosecution of patent applications in the computer science, electrical devices, consumer products, blockchain, cryptography, cryptocurrencies, and related fields since 1998 and with Internet and technology-related law since 1995. He also counsels clients on intellectual property portfolio strategies and infringement matters.

His varied practical experiences range from computer security, cryptography, distributed object-oriented programming to kernel-level memory management. His area of emphasis covers a wide variety of patent, trademark, and trade secret issues, with a particular focus on network and security related applications. Typical clients of Mr. Philipp’s are software and technology companies as well as related inventors.

Yan (Regina) Song

Regina Song, a young attorney, explores her enjoyment of the IP world at AEON Law after beginning her IP journey during law school. In 2015, Regina assisted Professor Randall R. Rader (former Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit) with the draft of the Teachers’ Manual of his co-authored Cases and Materials on Patent Law (4th Edition). In 2016, Regina and her teammates—the only team from mainland China—were invited to the University of Oxford to participate in the oral proceedings of the international IP Moot Court. Regina focuses her interest on trademark, copyright, and IP litigation. In her spare time, Regina likes to sing and play the piano. She has released two original music works that are available here.
